 #SheWantsItAll

It's been a little while since I've shared in this format with you all...just taking some time out to reflect on life, as well as work on a few other projects that are in store that God has placed His hand upon.
Today, randomly... I hear... She wants it all... when you want something... the words I am hearing in my heart are... "Go after it!" There is no reason why we as women cannot have what we want if it is according to God's divine will and plan for our lives.

I am reminded of John 15:7, "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you."

There is a road less traveled by women these days. That road is the road of diligence and tenacity. Although we do see it in some, very many women don't enjoy working at something to obtain a good result or an end that is worth the hard work. Many would like to take the easy road and hope and pray that the things they are after just happen to fall into their lap.

I have always kept in my mind that the person who does not work, does not eat. Let us stay "hungry". Hungry for the Word of God to continue to order our steps... hungry for the delight of our family; and that we operate in a fashion in which they can look to us always with respect and honor. Let us get hungry to help others and to stand up for the right thing always. Let us get on our grind so that in "wanting" or desiring things (not always material) that we stay focused so that we may obtain those things.
  • We may want a husband - let us make sure that we are spending time with ourselves, making ourselves better so that when "He" comes... we are prepared to be a wife.

  • We may want children - let us prepare the way by treating our bodies right, eating well, maintaining our nutrition so that we may carry that life for the duration without issues.

  • We may want a new job or better position- let us study and hone our craft to show that we have made the cut, and that our presence in the company or agency will add value; and that we are a great ambassador of the brand or mission.

  • We may want better health- again, let us focus on our nutrition, exercise and build up our mental fortitude as well.

  • We may want a better world to live in... well that means that we must pray, seek God on how to show us how WE can start within ourselves to add value to society as a whole... whether it be in our small community, in the schools around us, in our neighborhoods, in our local places of worship... it begins within.

Thanks for reading... and ladies (sorry guys/men) we can have it all... but it begins with YOU!

* Note to self... "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33

Peace and Blessings,

#GoodMedicine

It's simple...

Proverbs 17:22a

"A cheerful heart is good medicine."

Medicate yourself with the Word of God, laughter and joy... spread it to others and watch how things change for you on today.

"Jesus is my doctor, he writes down all of my prescriptions, he gives me all of my medicine..." He is the anecdote to all things.

#BeingGreat

#CanIBeGreat?

Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.
(Paraphrased from 1 John 4:4)

I was sitting here enjoying the liquid sunshine on this morning in the office... and I just heard the Lord say, "Let ME be great in you today!"

Does God speak to you? If you are in right relationship with God, you certainly can hear His voice. I felt so encouraged by this... not that I was discouraged... but it was like a nice little Hello from God.

I have heard folks saying a new term or phrase lately... "Can I be great?" Or... "Be Great"... or if something went wrong... "Such and such would not let me be great today..."

I love the fact that if we abide in the Lord and He abides in us... we are yet great!

Go out there and "Be Great" on today, friends... show the world that it's in Him you live, move and have your being... and because of Christ... You Are Great!

Peace and Blessings!

#ItsTime

#ItsTime

Have you ever felt like you are floating through life unable to settle in on your purpose in life?  Does that feeling make you unable to sleep, focus, or breathe?  Unwilling to commit or afraid to move forward in things that seem trivial to you?  Well, I've been there, done that and bought the tee- shirt, as they say.  I feel that personally, I have gotten to that place where I haven't seen the desired results as quickly as I've wanted them. The result has been my non-committal attitude and often shrugging off the very things I used to love and have passion for.

The question is, are we trusting God in the process, enough to step out on faith to the point where we feel that there's no more footing left?  Right now I am in a place in my life where I am trusting God, leaning upon His arms, and following His Word even more. I am not doing so solely for the "payoff", but because I want to show Him that I hear him, and I want to be obedient.  Obedience is much better than the alternative, which is sacrifice. When one is bombarded literally on a daily basis, or reminded of their purpose in life... it should make one wonder...how do I get to the next step, the next level? The bigger question is... "is it my time?"  I offer that nothing in this life is guaranteed, but I am reminded that if God said it, we can count on it... He will do just what He said.  Just continue to write the vision, make sure that it is very clear and YOU most of all know where you're headed and what you're called to do.  I am encouraged on today, I hope this encourages you too.

Peace and Blessings!

#Facetime

#Facetime

As a young teenager I used to sing on our local church choir.  We’d sing until heaven’s gates were opened, and the angels themselves came and sat in the pews and danced alongside the saints in the aisles of my home church as a girl.  What a wonderful time we’d have!  I always felt the presence of God there on Sunday’s and Friday night services… and Tuesday evening bible studies, etc.  Our faces shone bright with the glow of God’s powerful presence and His anointing.  Now… when I was in my teen moments of angst… say, I had maybe gotten scolded by my mom prior to church for maybe not listening, or fully handling a responsibility that was required… or someone said something funny out of their mouth to me in church…or someone hit an off note in the musician’s corner or that note didn’t quite meet the mark… or even our pastor at the time said or sang a little something that sounded off … my countenance changed…(as teens tend to do). I'd be on the choir... with a sour face. My mother would look at me and some others… and they’d say, “Fix your face!”…I’d sigh and really try… try is the operative word.

I was never one to hold onto my expressions and pretend. I still do not today. I am not a “great pretender”.  I am saying all of this to say that in the church, and outside of the church walls… in our everyday lives, on the job, in the store, at our children’s schools… we must remember to show and share the “ministry of countenance”. It is one of the first things that is noticed… face time. Walk into a room… when folks look up, they see your face. They see your body language… it’s important always to keep your head up, keep a smile and a kind word in your mouth.  What does your face time show?

Proverbs 27:19 (New International Version)As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the heart.”

*Note to self: Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important.

Peace and Blessings,

#WillingWorker

#WillingWorker

Growing up in the church (Church of God in Christ, Church of God Holiness) I learned how to be a “Willing Worker”. This was and still is a term given to a worker for the Lord, a servant of God, and a true spiritual team player in the game (if you will) of winning souls. Those who put their hands to work in the service and outside of the church walls were proud and humbled to offer themselves at no cost really… but only to the gaining of additional workers for/ and the up building of the Kingdom.

The question is, are we willing workers in our daily lives? Willing to reach out in other ways, willing to throw in our expertise and knowledge to help build the fabric of the daily lives of our brothers and sisters…Are we willing to stand up for right? Cry aloud and spare not? Willing to grow our communities, “each one, reach one”…Hmmm, I wonder how many are willing on today.

New American Standard Bible

Matthew 9:37 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few."  #WillingWorkersAreNeeded
